If you don't know, Sabine got her binky taken away on December 4th. She never looked back and even stopped mentioning it three or four days later. She did great. Sabine will NOT let me put her to bed. I'm required to bathe, pajama and brush her teeth for her, but put her to bed, I think not. Matthew has to do it every night and that's been our routine for a long time. Anyway, the other night Matthew and I told Sabine that Mom had to put her to bed because Dad was going back to work (he wasn't but he left the house to adjust carseats). So I go through Sabine's bedtime routine and then we go into the bedroom and put her in her big girl bed. Which is a whole other story in itsself. More on that at another time. I laid on the floor next to her bed for maybe 2 minutes and left the room, telling her to stay put (she has a bad habit of getting out of bed 40 times in a row, much to our dismay)! So I went out to the kitchen and Matthew came back in shortly after. He said "How did you get her to stay in there?" I said "She respects what I say, that's how!" Well, normally we would see Sabine alot once she's put to bed and absolutely hear her fuss in the middle of the night, at least 3 or 4 times. The next morning I was shocked that she had her best night ever. When I heard the girls making awake noises I went in to get them, and what did I see on Sabine's bed? That's right, a binky. She had snuck one of Sarah's binky's out of her crib and slept with it all night. Needless to say I had to put my foot in my mouth and take back my "respect" comment. I thought I had put the fear in her and really she just had her old friend back. Now I have to push Sarah's binkys to the far wall so she can't get them. And while we're on Sabine, here are a few pictures of her playgroup. There are 5 kids but Benji was not going to pose for a picture. The other boy is Ammon. The 2 girls are Alexa and Hayden. They meet once a week for 3 hours so that us moms can have a break. We rotate through our houses every 5 weeks. Sabine loves it, as do I.
