Weekend Dessert

My friend Jill posted a delicious pumpkin cookie recipe on her blog. She's private so I'll post it here. As she said, they are "seriously delicious cookies." And of course the girls helped as they do with all of my baking.
Sarah made sure the cookies didn't grow legs and walk away:Sabine always has to have the same photo-op as Sarah. This one is staged:They each got to frost one and eat it:Sarah just wanted to attack hers:The recipe:
Mix together in a small bowl:
2 c flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 t pumpkin spice
In a separate bowl beat til fluffy:
1/2 c shortening
1 c brown sugar
Add to that:
1 cup canned pumpkin (not the whole can)
1 large egg
1 t vanilla
Add flour mixture slowly to wet ingredients
Use a greased cookie sheet and bake on 350 for 12 minutes
I got 22 cookies out of this recipe
The Icing:
2/3 cup melted butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
2 T milk
Yummy!

Um, the girls help you with "all of your baking"?

It's awesome being the oldest sibling. Just keep a sharp eye out and you don't miss many opportunities. Even photo ops.

Sarah in front of the oven=Darling!
I love that Sabine has to set up her own "precious moments".

I'm glad you tried the cookies! I just made some more today, too. Loved the photos--that is hilarious that Sabine had to get the same picture, too!
